While the weather is getting slightly chillier and the days are getting darker earlier, all the tall tell signs of fall are closing in quickly! Time to break out the cinnamon and spices and prepare some fall cocktails.   Yamazaki Autumn Delight   All of my readers should know by now how much I love whiskey! Here is a great whiskey recipe perfect for the fall. Ingredients: 2 oz Yamazaki 12 year old whiskey 6 oz Apple Cider Fresh cinnamon Preparation: Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. In tribute to our last blog about the history of Absinthe here are some cocktails using it as one of the ingredients. I haev to say that they actually sound pretty good.  Cheers!  Absinthe B-55 1/3 shot coffee liqueur 1/3 shot Bailey's Irish Cream 1/3 shot Absinthe Directions/Comments: Layer all the ingredients in whiskey glass. Absinthe Curacao Frappe 1 oz Absinthe 1/2 oz Curacao 1 tsp lemon juice 2 tsp orange juice 1 orange slice Directions/Comments: Stir ingredients together and pour over crushed ice in a deep-saucer champagne glass. Though I have only watched a few episodes of the show, I know quite a few people who are totally enamored by it's wittiness and charm. This show, which is set in the 60's, is chalked full of old fashioned but tasty cocktails. So why not try one? Quite a long name for a delicious, beautiful martini mix. Serve this to your cocktail party guests and you'll be the talk of the town. Ingredients 8 ounces of Absolut Vanilla vodka 2 Lavender Citrus infusers (yes, we sell these) 4 drops vanilla extract 2 - 1 inch sections of vanilla bean 2 thin pear slices (fresh pear only!) The Mix Pour your (room temperature) vodka into an empty cocktail shaker, add your infusers and let stand for 10 minutes Remove the infusers and add 8 ice cubes to the shaker and shake like mad Strain your amazing elixir into 2 freezing martini glasses Top each glass with 2 drops of vanilla extra, 1 section of vanilla bean and 1 pear slice Enjoy!
